Vishal Sikka, CEO of Infosys, kicked off the welcome address following former U.S. Secretary of State, General Colin L. Powell, sharing stories of leadership from his career in the army and diplomacy. “Failure is a teaching experience, leadership is all about accepting responsibility,” said Powell.

During an inspirational session, “Born to Code: Our Children in a Digital Future” with Chairperson of Infosys Foundation USA, Vandana Sikka and CEO of Hadi Partovi, both speakers expressed their passion for computer science education in U.S. schools. The key messages break the stereotype “computer science is only for boys,” and build awareness and create diversity in the field.

“Inspire, advocate, volunteer, and funding are the four approaches we can do to make a change and a difference,” said Sikka.
